Spray Roof Sealers and Coatings

Spray roof coatings are formulated for broad substrate compatibility. Depending on the specific product formulation, they can be spray-applied over asphalt shingles, built-up roofing, modified bitumen, metal roofing, concrete, masonry, wood, spray polyurethane foam, and single-ply membranes like TPO and EPDM. Primers like BleedEx 400 are also available to block asphalt bleed-through on bituminous surfaces.

Yes, specific formulations such as SiliconEx 500 are 100% silicone, moisture-curing, and solvent-free, providing permanent ponding water resistance. Unlike conventional water-based coatings that soften under standing water, silicone membranes maintain their hydrophobic properties, tensile strength, and adhesion without breaking down, making them suitable for low-slope roofs and flat commercial substrates.

Reflective cool roof coatings like SolarEx 300 and TropEx 310 utilize high levels of titanium dioxide reflective pigments to reflect solar radiation away from roof surfaces. By reflecting both ultraviolet and infrared rays, these coatings lower surface temperatures, reduce thermal heat transfer into the building interior, and help lower air conditioning energy demands during peak warm seasons.

Spray application provides even, rapid coverage across textured roofing materials. Specialized acrylic rejuvenators like ShinglEx 800 bind loose surface granules, reduce granule loss, and provide a waterborne acrylic film that slows sun-induced weathering. Applying the coating via an airless sprayer restores uniform color and protective performance without the cost and disruption of a full roof tear-off.

Most of our elastomeric, acrylic, and silicone coatings are designed for application with standard commercial airless spray equipment. For instance, SolarEx 300 requires airless sprayers capable of 3,000 PSI or higher. While spray application is preferred for large-scale coverage, products can also be applied by brush or roller for edge detailing, flashing, and smaller spot applications.

To accommodate varying project scales from residential repairs to massive commercial roofs, coatings are supplied in multiple container sizes. Available options include 1-gallon cans, 5-gallon pails, 55-gallon drums, 180-gallon pallet systems, and 265-gallon totes. Bulk packaging options allow professional contractors and distributors to optimize material handling and coverage costs on large square footage jobs.
